DAMMERT, ALFREDO
What has been happening on the domain of non-realistic literature in Peru deserves special attention. At first glance, it might seem to the casual reader a happy coincidence between authors, editors and academic researchers, a coincidence which makes visible a special kind of fiction of a different sensibility, one that explains a vast and complex reality, a social and political context that does not cease to amaze, unnerve and produce critical thinking, as well as doubt, with respect to what the future means from the standing point of the present Peruvian circumstances, reaching for past ghosts only when necessary. In that sense, in most of its tales, Disturbing Stories ponders on this disturbing landscape from the perspective of the impossible.
